Tejal Pastakia

Managing Partner
In 2010, Tejal founded Pastakia + Associates, LLC to develop urban infill mixed-use buildings in the Puget Sound region. Her firm’s philosophy has been to adopt “best practices” through the development of various mixed-use projects as well as public projects. Over the last 25 years, Tejal has developed and built over 7,500 units and over 200,000 sf of office and neighborhood retail in the region.

Working in collaboration with various organizations, local as well as institutional, Pastakia + Associates partners with key investors to build their own real estate assets. Most of Pastakia’ s portfolio consists of long-term hold assets in the local region. With a foundation in architecture and urban design, Tejal’s approach to the built environment is to focus on real estate assets that enhance the community, respond sustainably to the environment, and build communities for generations to live, work and play in. Project types include urban mixed-use, mixed-income, historic renovation, and adaptive reuse redevelopment. Tejal brings in-depth knowledge and experience in innovative sustainable development techniques, public/private partnerships, and creative financing mechanisms that include 220/221 d (4) HUD financing, bond financing as well as access to other sources of private equity and debt.

Tejal currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Industrial and Office Projects-Puget Sound Chapter (NAIOP), is on the Board of Trustees at the Seattle Academy of Arts and Sciences (SAAS) and is a board member at the University of Wahington Wright Runstad College of Real Estate. She also previously served two terms on the board of Bellwether Housing – an affordable housing organization in the Puget sound region.
